Brighton Shopping - The Best
Places...
It’s a narrow maze of
winding paths crammed with interesting shops, cafes and
boutiques. It’s also Brighton & Hove’s premium shopping
district and is well worth a visit. It’s easy to find,
located opposite the tourist information centre and barely a
couple of minutes from the seafront on Kings
Road.
There’s a lot of
interesting shops – from those selling armour and African
artefacts to the latest fashion accessories. If markets are
your thing, come along on Saturday when the flea market is
held on a weekly basis.
Interestingly, the
lanes actually date back to the 17th century when they were
used to join the main Brighton roads together. Since then
they have evolved into a network of mazed streets that now
form the ultimate shopping experience in
Brighton.
The Lanes really have
everything that a shopper would want - here, you can find
shops selling exquisite jewelry to coffee stores where you
can buy fresh ground coffee.
For classic, unique
Bohemian type shops visit the North Laine, where you can
find over 300 stores selling all types of goods from fashion
clothes to African artifacts. The stores are spread over an
area of approximately half a square mile.
Also worth checking out
is the Churchill Square Shopping Centre, a five minute
stroll from the beach. Churchill Square has 90 shops as well
as a number of restaurants and cafes all in one
complex.
